The gamers are able to move around, although to do that they need to follow directions – as this is a job opportunity that they are embarking on as technicians. The FNAF: Sister Location gameplay spans over a five-night period in which the technician is exposed to the different cramped spaces, active machinery, and large animatronic characters: Ballora, BidyBab, Bon Bon, Circus Baby, Funtime Foxy, Funtime Freddy, Minireena, Springtrap, etc. The first untrustworthy order has the community members input their names into the system while in the elevator from there, the malevolent nature of the game advances as the players are asked to do questionable actions. The commands that are given are corrupt the game begins in a shady elevator with HandUnit giving a review to the gamer on their role as a technician in the facility. A directive voice will guide the players through the game to knock out a series of tasks.
The prior four games were based on a stationary gameplay - whereas within this fifth edition, gamers move from room to room and essentially obey the narrator, HandUnit people that play the game are tasked with being a late-night technician for the establishment.
